| An O-1 (call sign Lopez 5) from Da Nang was flying a visual reconnaissance sortie and was hit by small arms fire as it was approaching to land at an airstrip near An Hoa, 17 miles south of Da Nang. The aircraft crash-landed short of the airstrip but the pilot was only slightly injured and was rescued by a HH-43B from Da Nang. |
