| At the end of a night BARCAP mission a Crusader tried to refuel from an A-4 tanker but was unable to do so because of a mechanical malfunction. The engine flamed out due to fuel exhaustion before the aircraft could reach the carrier or divert to Da Nang airfield and the pilot had to eject. Jerry Weber’s luck, which had saved him from death on 12 March when he crashed in bad weather, held again as he was rescued from the sea. |
