| A Bird Dog (call sign Nile) was shot down during a FAC mission near Phu Giao, 15 miles north of Bien Hoa. Both pilot and observer were killed in the crash. It is not known if the crew were related to each other but Maj Cunningham was a Forward Airborne Observer with the Air Cavalry Troop of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. |
