| A Nail FAC was shot down by AAA 12 miles east of Muang Phine in southern Laos as it was controlling an air strike on a target. Maj Scanlan (call sign Nail 12) bailed out safely but was injured on landing. He was later rescued by a HH-3E from the 37th ARRS. |
