| An O-2 (call sign Snap) was shot down by small arms fire during a visual reconnaissance patrol in the Saigon area. The aircraft’s tail was damaged and Maj Yates attempted an emergency landing about fives miles south of Saigon but the aircraft crashed and both crew were killed. |
