| A Covey FAC (call sign Covey 504) was shot down while on a mission in southern Laos. The aircraft was damaged by ground fire about 15 miles northeast of Muang Fangdeng and crashed near the village of Ban Thakkapang, a few miles to the north. The crew were rescued by a HH-53C from the 37th ARRS. This crew was shot down again just 16 days later and was again rescued by a HH-53C from the 37th ARRS. |
