| Little is known about this particular incident except that the aircraft was shot down by an SA-7 missile near Phum Luong, just inside Cambodia, about 50 miles west of Saigon. The fate of the pilot is unknown but a 1Lt John Michael Cole is listed as having been killed on this date but in Thua Thien province, just to the north of Da Nang while serving in the 8th TFW. |
