| A Covey FAC with a Marine Corps observer was directing naval gunfire on enemy positions near Da Nang when it was seen to explode and fall into the sea just off the coast about 12 miles north of Da Nang. No survivors were found from the incident. Bruce Boltze had survived being shot down near Da Nang in a TA-4F on 26 May but on the 6th his luck ran out. |
