| An F-105 collided with a Bird Dog FAC aircraft in Laos south of the Mu Gia Pass resulting in the death of the FAC pilot. This O-1, like many of its type at this stage of the war, was camouflaged and may have been difficult to see by the fast moving F-105. Later in the year most of the Thailand-based O-1s were repainted in a light grey colour scheme to make them more visible from above. The F-105 pilot was rescued by a HH-3C from Udorn. |
